Trousers with an elastic waist and crocheted picot edge, knitted top-down in Tynn Line held double (two colours combined for a marled effect). 3.5 mm needles – tension: 21 stitches = 10 cm. Notions: 3 cm wide elastic, cut to waist length.
Work in stocking stitch from the waist, which is knitted double for the elastic. Short rows add height at the back, then increases at centre front and back shape the gusset before the legs are worked separately. The scalloped edge is worked on the cast-off edge.
The amount of yarn is based on the measurements shown. Allow extra yarn for a longer garment.
